{Fun fix} There's nothing like great music.

In the last few weeks I've been to two great concerts.

The first was Janet Jackson in Montreal.
The tickets were a surprise from my cousin.
The show was a lot of fun.

The second was John Legend and Sade.
My beautiful Sissy bought both myself and her bestie tickets for our birthdays and our Mum a ticket for mothers day.
That concert was amazing!!!
Let me tell you, if you've never seen John Legend in concert, you are missing out.  That man's voice is so incredible not to mention Sexy!  He is by far the best vocalist I've seen in concert and I've been to a lot of great concerts.
Sade was the headliner and she put it down!!
I was in awe the entire time.
She really put on a production.  The lighting, stage art, her performance and the band...
Beyond all my expectations.
She put so much thought, time and money into the whole show, I walked away feeling very appreciated as a fan.
The best concert I've ever been to.

Thanks Sissy, you're the best.

{Fun Fix} I'm 30 v.2

This past Saturday, I had another 30th birthday celebration.
We started with a little pre-funk at the house while we got ready, then went out for an amazing dinner of Thai then off to a lounge where I had asection reserved for all my guests.

There were pictures galore, so here are a few...

I was a bit insecure about the little black dress, but nothing a little
Champagne couldn't handle.

LBD, I didn't eat much all day.

Happy Birthday to Me!!
Now, I'm back to bed. I've been fighting a cold for the last 2 days.  The baby is sleep, so I better take advantage of this moment.

Date Night

The Hubs and I went out Saturday night. We actually went to a club, did a little dancing and had a few drinks. It was a nice night out together, something we hadn't done in a while.
~
Here is a couple pics of my outfit. I'm still trying to lose weight, so finding something to wear was a pain in the butt. It's always a challenge. I can't just put something on and walk out the door.

Top - H&M
Jeggings - Old Nizzle
Boots - Nine West

Jewels - Forever 21

I'm still thinking about making some changes to my blog. I have a new name in mind, and a new focus, but I'm still trying to find a new design. Do any of you know someone who does blog design? Or have any suggestions on where I can find a template?

Dinner with Mum and Sissy

My Sissy, has been seeing this new guy lately. He's a chef at a fancy little restaurant downtown Vancouver called The Italian Kitchen. He invited her and her familia to enjoy some of his great cooking and royal treatment. So you already know, we were all over it.
We went Sunday evening and had a great time, just the 3 of us. Not something we get to do too often so it was special.

When we got there Chef David introduced himself to Mum and I. He asked what we liked to eat and took it from there.

Everything was served family style, which we loved.

Our first platter, which is unpictured (Sissy, you forgot to e-mail me that one) had a small beat salad, roasted brussel sprouts, a bruschetta trio
(chick pea, tomato basil, pesto burrata), and a small caprese salad.

Next up, was the dinner platter.
Not quit sure what everything was called, but there was baby lobster tails, jumbo prawns, fried ravioli, chicken parmigiana, scallops. Oh my it was all so delish.

Last, but not least, Chef David made us a special desert platter.
Amaretto cherries, white chocolate covered cheesecake lollipops, chocolate cake with espresso gelato and caramel sauce, and Italian style doughnuts.

We left out of there, stuffed and Happy. It was a great dinner and time spent.
Thanks Sissy, and Chef David!

Date Night

The Hubs wanted to take me out for an impromptu dinner date. We ended up at the Melting Pot for Happy Hour.

First up we each had a Caesar salad, which I took a pic of but must have missed it while uploading.

Next we had the Traditional Swiss cheese fondue. It was cheesy and delish.

We ended our "Fondue Pig Out" with a milk chocolate dip. Heaven on a plate.

We dipped away until the goodies disappeared.
Oddly, I didn't take any pics of us. But you all know what we look like. :)

Backwards post, but oh well.

Last night The Hubs and I went to see Martin Lawrence do stand up. Hilarious, dirty and raunchy, but hilarious.
Finding an outfit to wear that made me still feel cute, not fat, and cover the 18 week prego belly was a challenge. But somehow I managed.
Here I am with J before hitting the door to leave.

Yesterdays lunch couldn't have been easier.
A boring sammy,

And soup.
Actually, I've really been enjoying this soup. I've been taking it to work for dinner.

Breakfast was really good. An egg white scramble with a whole wheat english muffin and some turkey bacon.

Yesterday, I also had a snack of some sliced pears.

New Years Eve Recap

2010 is here!
Crazy that 2009 is already over.
It flew by for me.

The Hubs and I celebrated the New Year with friends at a party.

The party was a package deal that included a hotel suite, dinner, and a champagne toast at midnight.

{Here I am in the Hotel ready for dinner}

The event was very well organized with place cards and all.

Dinner was buffet style. Here's my plate. The salad and salmon were both really, really good.
I forgot to get a pick of our desert. The Hubs and I shared a slice of chocolate pie with an oreo crust. It was delish.

{A few more pics of us just after the countdown to midnight}

We had a good time bringing in the New year with friends.

2010 is going to be a year of new beginnings. We are expanding our family this year. (yes, that means what you think it means)
It's bitter sweet for me for all the obvious reasons. But we're excited.

As for my goals moving into this New Year, I will continue to strive for great Health, Happiness and Family Time.

Happy New Year!!

Weekend Fun.

{Who's that naughty girl?}

{Check out the chick in the background. It was like 45 degrees outside and she had on a mini and open-toe shoes. Hello Frost Bite!}

***

My Mum, Sissy and Friend K-Ryn, came to visit this weekend. Love it when they're here. We always do lots of shopping, eating, and drinking. The eating and drinking part, can sometimes get out of hand, as you can see from the pictures. But hey, I only have one life to live. Besides, it's times like these that I work so hard the rest of the time for.

What a great weekend. Love you guys.
