{Family Fix} Parade Season

It's parade season once again. 
There are so many parades during the summer months around the Seattle area.  I have my two favorites that I like to go to.  The Chinatown Parade and the one we took the kids to on Sunday, the Kent Cornicopia Parade. 




The drill teams are a big part of the parades.

They are my favorite part, mostly because my little sister, cousins, nieces and a nephew(plays the drums) all march in one.  This year is extra exciting because one of my little cousins is the Captain!

{Family Fix} Easter at the Market

Happy Easter!!

Yesterday, we had a great day.  It started with a egg hunt in the front yard for Avon.  He loved it, each time he found an egg he got so excited.  Totally cute.

Of course we got a few pics.

Wynter wasn't in the mood for a photo shoot, she was all tears so this is as good as it got for her.



After Avon's egg hunt, we headed out to downtown Seattle.  The weather out here was beautiful, a perfect day to stroll around the Pike Place Market.

I love all the handmade items for sale.  I thought these glass blown bulbs were pretty.

Of course there are lots of fresh spring flowers for sale at the market.

And plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

 

Seattle is such a beautiful city.  Lots of culture, and art.  You never know what you might see at any given moment.

While downtown, we took a look into World Market.  If you are not familiar, World Market is a store full of unique items from many places.  They sell a mix of goods, from beautiful furniture, beer & wine, packaged foods, sweet goodies and fashion accessories all from around the world. 

While cruising the aisles, I found some interesting items.

Like,

this beer from Belgium.

Hilarious name.

And this microwaveable can of Spotted Dick from England.

{Family fix} It's been too long...

Dear Blog,

I've neglected you and I'm sorry.

Life sometimes has a way of getting busy and complicated which forces me to focus my attention elsewhere.

But I'm back and I will do my best to treat you better.

So, to kick things off, I want to bring you up to date.

{Family Fix} Pumpkin Around

Yesterday, The Hubs and I finally got the chance to take the boys to the pumpkin patch.  It's always so much fun.  I love to pick out pumpkins.  I don't like the perfect ones, I like them unique.

Last year after halloween, I found a ton of halloween decorations and costumes for 90% off the original price.  So I paid less than $4 for both of these together.

I love a good deal!

Tonight, we're gonna carve our pumpkins and I think, I'm gonna make some pumpkin pie.

Yum.

{Family Fix} A Fall Day

The boys and I went for a walk the other day.  I love this time of year, when it's not quite cold yet, but not blazing hot either.  The air is fresh and the colors of nature are bright.

We took some pics while we were out.

 

The only thing I don't like about fall, is knowing that winter is coming.  Ugh.

{Family Fix} Beach Day

It had been so beautiful around here the beginning weeks of Sept.  Now we are back to the drab weather that we are so used to.

I'm glad we got the chance to take advantage of the beautiful days and have a little beach fun.

Still not ready to say "good bye" to summer.

{Family Fix} Birthday Boy

Today is a good day,

my little man is turning 1.

Look at that little face!!

Avon at 1 year,

• He's a little tornado.  Gets into everything and leaves a path of destruction behind.
• He has 8 teeth, all of which he likes to use on Mommy's boobies when feeding. ouch.
• He's been walking like a pro for a month, even tries to run.
• He looks up to big brother J and loves to play with him
• He loves to sing and dance.
• He has been such a sweet addition to our family, I couldn't imagine life without him

Happy 1st Birthday!

{Fitness Fix} Jaelyn's Track Meet

We signed Jaelyn up with a track team this summer to keep him busy.
This was his first year, so needless to say, it was quite cute to watch.

He's a pretty good runner. He's a little slow at the start because he is so busy watching the other runners take off.  His last meet was on Wednesday and he got 3rd place in the 50 meter run.  His best time of the season.

In addition to the 50 and 100 meter races, he also competed in the standing long jump.

 

And the softball throw.

The season was a quick 6 weeks, but he really enjoyed it.
And since we haven't really had much of a summer here in the Great Northwest, (rain, clouds, rain and more clouds) it was perfect for him to get out of the house, get some activity and meet some new friends.

{Fun Fix} Zoo Day

Our little family of 4 decided to spend some time together at the zoo.

Jaelyn loves animals, esp. penguins, so he had a blast.

The penguins came super duper close to the gate so we were able to get a really good look at them.

Jaelyn was on cloud nine.

Of course he didn't want to leave the exhibit for like 20 mins.

The penguins really are too cute.

{Family Fix} Parade Fun

Sunday the Hubs went fishing and I took the boys to a parade.
I love parades.  I remember going to parades in the summertime when I was a little girl visiting my Granny.   So much excitment.
These days when I go to parades I'm extra excited because I have a handful of little relatives who perform in the parades.  And it's so fun to cheer them on as they pass by.

The parade was a part of a larger festival so of course when Jaelyn saw the rides he had to get on a few.

We met up with some cousins and they all got to ride together.

Sunday turned out to be a perfect summer day.  Lot's of family, sun and fun.
