I heard a leader once say to take the time to enjoy your food. This is something that has stuck with me. Your food is fuel for life. It is something that should be appreciated. Put love into the foods you prepare and take the time to really experience eating it.
In a perfect world, we would have a beautiful set table for every meal with matching plates and glasses. Oh and of course a cook, server, and dishwasher. But since we live on earth and have busy lives it's probably not a reality to set the table for every meal, but there are small things we can do to make at least a few of our meals special.
Here is a list of suggestions:
- Buy a fancy plate only you use for meals
- Drink your water out of a wine glass
- Use fancy linen napkins
- Play soft music while dinning
- Use a fresh flower as a center piece
These are all things you could do, even if you eat alone.
Most importantly, remember to slow down and taste your food. Don't just scarf it down.
